Summer Reading Club

2014 Events & Activities

An independent annual 6 week reading program
for children ages 3 - 13 held at the library each
summer. Registration required.

PAWS to Read!
June 2 - July 18, 2014

Summer Reading Club a success!

How it works...

Earn prizes by reading and entering
weekly drawings*.

(*drawings for grade schoolers only)

Note: Grade levels are the grade just finished.

Grades K & 1: 25 books (kindergartners can be read to)
Grades 2 & 3: 20 books
Grades 4, 5, & 6: 15 books
Preschoolers (Age 3-5): 30 books read to them

- Books over 70 pages count as 2 books
- Up to 5 TumbleBooks on our website count towards goal

Travel with Booker!

This summer, check out our stuffed blue
library dog, Booker T. Hound, and his
travel journal for up to two weeks
(with parent permission). Take Booker
on a weekend trip, a visit to Grandma's
house, or family vacation and write about
his adventures with you!

  • July 15: Jason Kollum's "See a Juggler;
    Be a Juggler!"

Free Family Fun:

    the Origami Storyteller
  • July 9, 2:00pm: Pre-registration
    (for ages 7-13) Make &
    launch a rocket with aeronautical
    engineer Bob Windt!
  • July 10, 6:30pm: Paws Giving
    Independence! Service/companion
    dogs will be visiting!
  • July 17, 3:00pm: T.A.P.S! Learn
    about our local animal shelter and
    how to adopt a pet.
  • Aug. 14, 6:30pm: Reader's Theater
    "Fractured Fairy Tales"

    Independence service/companion dog!

Reach your reading goal and attend the final
celebration! Note: Kids 8 and under must
be accompanied by an adult.
